About
Founded by Hüsnü Özyeğin in 1987, Finansbank became the fifth largest bank in Turkey by consolidated asset size as of September 30, 2016.
Finansbank went public on the Istanbul Stock Exchange in 1990, making it the first private sector bank in Turkey to do so. The bank, which stands out in the sector with its success story, achieved new milestones after the National Bank of Greece S.A. became its majority shareholder in 2006. Thanks to its innovative service approach, the bank introduced many firsts to the industry, including the Galaxy Card, Turkey’s first installment credit card, in 1999; CardFinans Nakit, the world’s first debit card with installment options, in 2009; and Enpara.com, which allowed basic banking services to be conducted exclusively through digital channels without physical branches, launched in 2012.
In June 2016, Finansbank and its subsidiaries were acquired by Qatar National Bank.
